This class will meet twice per week on Mondays and Wednesdays 5:30 – 8:30 pm, starting on November 28th and ending on December 21st. Class will not meet on Hanukkah (Dec. 19th)
The 4 week Intro to Pottery is a great course for those who are interested in working with clay and want to try both handbuilding and pottery wheel throwing, or want to refresh their pottery skills in a condensed time frame compared to an 8 week course. This short course is the same amount of class time as an 8 week course but in a shorter period of time. Lily will teach several handbuilding techniques which may include pinch pots, slab built forms, and coil pots, and also how to use the pottery wheel to make cylinders and small bowls. Glazing will also be taught and students will create several projects to take home and enjoy during this class.
Glazes, firing charges and one bag of clay per student are included in the class price. Each student may also have 6 hours of studio time per week outside of their class time to work on projects at the studio. Community tools are provided but you may bring your own tools to use or purchase a tool kit for $10. Students get one 24 x 18 x 16 inch shelf to store projects and materials.
