This class will focus on intermediate wheel techniques with a focus on creating balanced forms and attachments. Goals for this class include recognizing what consistency in your throwing and trimming looks like through a variety of shapes, creating attachments that are visually balanced and well attached, understanding why cracks happen and how to avoid them. Projects will include teapots(vessel body, spout, lid, knob, handle), throwing larger forms using multiple pieces of clay, some other throwing exercises and intermediate projects. If you don’t need a teapot, they also work for watering plants ;)

All intermediate wheel students should be able to center and throw a cylinder without instruction. Jaz will meet you where your skills are and encourage you to try new things to find what works best for you.

Instructed by Jazzy. This three hour class will meet once per week starting and ending on the listed dates.

Glazes, firing charges and one bag of clay per student are included in the class price. Similar to membership at Cascade, students can enjoy 24/7 access to the studio to work on projects.  Community tools are provided or you may bring your own tools. Students get one 24 x 18 x 16 inch shelf to store projects and materials. Please read our terms of service before purchasing a class.
