On the first day of this workshop, you will learn how to create 2-3 different styles of mushrooms ranging between 1″ – 4″ tall. With Tiahna’s guidance, you will create one-piece mushrooms that can be done solely by hand sculpting and minimal tool work, as well as a two-piece hollow mushroom that will provide more in depth instruction of joining separate pieces to create a unified form. Each workshop varies slightly in mushroom type and style taught. Tiahna will provide instruction and participants will have the freedom to make their mushrooms however they want, and can even make small pinch pots to attach them to if desired.
Mushrooms will then be bisque fired and participants will return 2 weeks later to glaze their mushrooms. There are many glazes to choose from, ranging from shiny bright colors to matte neutrals. Mushrooms will be ready to pickup about 5 days after glazing, during our workshop pickup hours.
