Join us for a one time class on the potters wheel!
Your instructor Max will first demonstrate the process of making a cylinder or bowl and then give you individual feedback as you make your own. This is a 1.5 hour class, participants will go through the process of making one pot then a second one if time allows. You can choose to keep one pot that you make or pay an additional $15 to keep your second pot too. If you choose to keep two pots you may pay at the studio using either Venmo or a check, no cards or cash.
Demo takes about 15 minutes, making your first pot can take about 25 mins – 1 hour. Many people will have time to make a second pot, but not always. The second pot usually is a little quicker to make. Cleanup and choosing a glaze will take up the last 10 – 15 minutes.
Your new pottery will be bisque fired in the kiln once they are dry and then glaze fired with one of 6 glazes you will have to choose from. Glazed pots will be ready to pick up 3 weeks after the workshop during our pickup times Monday & Wednesday 9 – noon. We will email you when they are ready to pick up.
We recommend that you wear clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting dirty, although the clay does wash out of clothes easily. The pottery wheel is also easier with short fingernails! :)
