This class is designed for beginners and those just starting their clay journey. We’ll focus on the fundamentals—centering, pulling, and shaping clay—so you can build a strong foundation for
your creativity. You’ll receive hands-on guidance throughout the throwing and glazing process while having the freedom to explore your own ideas. Whether you’re looking to make functional
pottery or experiment with form, this class will give you the skills and confidence to bring your vision to life, while having lots of fun too! This class will start on March 4th and end on April 22nd.
Glazes, firing fees and one bag of clay is included in the class price. Students can enjoy 24/7 access to the studio to practice their new skills and work on projects. Community tools are provided or you may bring your own. Students get one 24x18x16 inch shelf to store projects and materials. Come spend a creative day at the potter’s wheel! This workshop is ideal for beginners who are eager to explore the wheel and check out our studio. Your instructor will start by guiding you through the basics of pottery, demonstrating how to create a simple cup. Together, we’ll work on making cylinders, and then you'll have time to shape your own, receiving personalized feedback along the way. The session will wrap up 25 minutes early for clean-up and to choose your glaze colors. Your instructor will take care of firing and glazing your pieces, which will typically be ready for pick-up 4-6 weeks after the workshop. Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty and trim your nails before the session. Registration is for all four members of your team. Please arrive on time, instruction will begin at 2:05pm.
