This class will focus on developing wheel throwing skills, and finishing pots with alternative firing methods such as Raku, Horse hair, Sagar fire and Pit fire. There will be two firing opportunities where students can bring their work to be fired at an alternate location nearby the studio. Eli will discuss how each finish may compliment certain textures or forms. Advanced wheel with Eli will be a super fun and amazing opportunity to get feedback on developing projects and ideas you’ve been dreaming of. There may be demos and suggested projects, students are also encouraged to bring ideas for projects they wish to create and Eli will provide tips and feedback to help make it happen. This class can cater to a variety of skill levels and Eli will meet you where your skills are. All students should be able to make a cylinder without instruction and have some existing knowledge of pottery wheel techniques and of the drying process.
Instructed by Eli. This three hour class will meet once per week starting and ending on the listed dates.
