  • Create your own Pumpkin or Jack-O-Lantern Jar just in time for spooky season. Lily will demonstrate how to form the shape of a pumpkin by using coils, add details such as a stem, leaves, a face, and how to make a lid so your clay Jack-o-Lantern can be used as a luminary or jar. Once finished, the pumpkins will dry over several days, be fired in the kiln, glazed and fired again. Lily will glaze students pumpkins, and have them ready in about 3 weeks! We will email you when it's time to pick them up.
  • Come get in the fall spirit and make some cute pumpkins out of clay! Jaz will demonstrate how to make a hollow form pumpkin using a pinching technique and then it’s your turn to make your own. Participants will usually have time to finish about 3 - 4  things, and may decorate them with underglaze paints if time allows, or Jaz will glaze them for you after the workshop. Once finished, pumpkins need to dry and be fired twice in the kiln, so they will be ready couple weeks after the workshop. We will notify you by email when they are ready. Beginner friendly.

This class will focus on building a foundation of skills for using the pottery wheel to make cylinders and bowls. This is a short class for summer, meeting for two hours instead of three. Class will include a group demo and personal demos/feedback during work time for projects. This is a good class for those who are total beginners with pottery or those who have not touched the wheel for a while and want to refresh their knowledge, or those who are working on learning to throw a cylinder consistently. Students will learn about the stages of clay by using the pottery wheel to form pottery with wet clay, dry it to the right consistency to trim a foot, finish drying the pottery for its first firing, and glaze their work. Many people choose to repeat beginning wheel more than once or twice, until they can center clay and make cylinders without instruction before moving on to an intermediate wheel class. By the end of this class students should have completed several projects to take home and enjoy! Instructed by Max.
